This book was very overhyped and I went into it thinking I would love it. The first half was pretty slow, and I really struggled to connect with and care about the characters. 

The world-building and plot (and tbh the writing in general) made this read intriguing and easy to finish. I’m not sure if I’ll come back for the rest of the series yet.
