I read this with my book club. Honestly... I don't think I liked it very much and I'm really disappointed ☹️ like, I'm more upset by this feeling than about what happened in the book. I partly connected to the characters but idk, it was not a satisfying slow burn as far as feelings go. I just needed a little bit more to make it believable. It felt like nothing was progressing, then all of sudden it was intense feelings. Personally, that really ruins a book for me.
The pacing was off with the plot as well and some things just... don't make sense to me still. I'm not sure if I'm curious enough to read book 2.
I predicted multiple twists as I was reading so maybe that's part of it too. Especially with events at the very end, so I wasn't shocked by the ending, just sort of resigned because I expected it.
I liked Dianna and Liam, and the story was interesting, so maybe I will try to read the second book.
