Planet of Exile by Ursula K. Le Guin
4.0
I have this, Rocannon's World and City of Illusions in an omnibus, which is great for convenience but bad for closure. So I finished Planet of Exile without knowing, and read half of chapter 1 in City of Illusions before realising something was wrong. A little dissatisfying.
However, I enjoyed Planet of Exile, which reminded me a lot of Helliconia (a comparison I'm sure Brian Aldiss would resent), but this was of much smaller scope than that trilogy and than Rocannon's World. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes a good story is enough.
