Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens

4.0

This is an astounding debut novel. I devoured it in mere hours in the span of two days. I'm disappointed I read it so fast because I enjoyed it so much.

One star bumped off because there were some authorial choices I'm not sure how I felt about, but overall, wow. I'm glad I read this one. Intriguing, sad, delicate, horrifying, beautiful.

Edit: I just read the most popular 1-star review of this book on Goodreads. Now that I've read it, I can't help but agree its points are totally valid. And yet the emotion of the book keeps us at 4 stars over here in my corner. *shrug*
