In pursuit of his mate, an alpha wolf faces human extremists bent on his exile. I didn't like him much previously but he won me over here - smart, dominant, possessive and so very sweet. She's stubborn, sarcastic and pissed me off for 50% of the book. I get that her anger is justified but the way she kept hurting him after all he did to show his love and sincerity is awful. Her hot/cold is ugh, and going on a date to test him is extremely childish.

The romance is a lot more enjoyable when it picked up in the next half, thank fuck she got her act together. They shared some emotional and very steamy times, and he loves her so fiercely! I found myself more invested in the action side of things with the extremists, which was rather exciting. Decent read overall, but wished Shayla was better. All my 🌟 for Nick though.
