Mansfield Park by Jane Austen
3.0

I kind of waver on how to rate this book but I settled on 3 stars. It’s not going to be among my favorites of Austen’s work, but it’s still good.

The story over all is not quite as sweeping or engaging as some of Austen’s other works like P&P or S&S, but it’s solid enough, with all the traditional Austen/Regency tropes.

Probably controversial, but I like Fanny Price. From what I gather she’s criticized a lot, but as a quiet introverted girl myself I found her quite relatable and endearing. Hers is almost a sort of Cinderella story, and it was nice seeing her goodness and kindness pay off in the end. Her romance with Edmund is all right, not one of my favorites, but it’s sweet enough.
