This is a great series, and Armand Gamache one of my favourite detectives, but this one for me just didn't quite hit the mark.  The huge leap that Gamache had to take from the non-specific messages he was given to what the plot actually was spoiled it for me - I reread that section and STILL did not come to that conclusion.  If you can ignore that then this is a rollercoaster of a ride that takes us across the world to France and has Gamache and the team battling to save the population of Quebec from a mass disaster.

The ending was left wide open for the next novel, and whilst of course I will read it, I would have preferred the story to be concluded
