One Little Mistake by Emma Curtis

5.0

This book was very enjoyable, it had me hooked from the very start. Emma Curtis creates a nice loving cosy environment at the start then gradually smacks you upside your head with dose of cold hard, gritty and unnerving truths!!

There were parts of the book that made me very uncomfortable, but that's what they are there for and they are needed to establish the core of the story. This is not butterflies and pretty rainbow's book. The book had a splash of everything, romance, crime, and thriller. A trickle of topics for everyone's literary taste buds.

I enjoyed the characters in the book, with my loyalty as a reader and spectator flip-flopping from one to another, at the switch of a chapter change. I found the pace of the book perfect. I was never bored and I felt no need to skim read. I wanted to savour every well-written sentence.

One tiny little non-important fun fact I noticed was Emma Curtis's use of the phrase ~ frying meat and onions. It must be a favourite scent of Emma's as she uses it in three different places in the book.

I am hoping that this is going to be a series of books. There is so much more I want to know about the other characters in the book. Jenny, Magda for example, what goes on behind their closed doors after the events of Vicky and Amber!

Last but not least, my thoughts on the cover. I really think it fits in perfect with the story and gives nothing away.

So I encourage you to dive into this novel, One Little Mistake, is a refreshing read with lot's of thought provoking topics.
