I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. It reminded me why I liked Hugh at first, too.... he's a bastard, but he's such an interesting, charismatic bastard. I enjoyed seeing him with his soldiers and navigating the waters of a post-Roland existence.

Also, I really loved Elara. I found her sassy and fun and interesting, and I really liked learning about her. Really want to learn more!

And on a spoilery note...
SpoilerI still know I'm not going to get what I want from Roland in the last KD book, but I was super proud of Hugh for saying no to him at the end. I hope he ends up showing up in the last KD book tbh, but I'm not holding my breath for it.
