Hmm...
You have a hero or that I felt was a bit spoiled and didn’t really grow out of it. She acted this way from high school to college and expected to have an adult relationship....no. Just doesn’t work. With her lack of maturity she is insecure and needs to be reassured.
The hero is suffering from what I believe is PTSD from his childhood. I am surprised that it doesn’t come up, really, and how he should work through the trauma that he suffered.
Overall, I felt this book was a bit unrealistic.
