the ending bumped the rating, but the book overall was really good. pacing was off a bit though. a lot of this book due to the nature of the perspective felt a little bit showy not tell-y though, which felt awkward most times. but i genuinely did enjoy the book a lot, especially because Kuang makes you feel bad for the main character.
