We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

5.0

This should be essential reading. I listened to this on one uninterrupted walk with my dog - it’s a short essay on feminism that Adichie approaches anecdotally - so it wasn’t dogmatic but super readable and interesting. Adichie makes it clear that feminism isn’t just for angry women, it’s for everybody.

‘Gender as it functions today is a grave injustice. I am angry. We should all be angry. Anger has a long history of bringing about positive change. But I am also hopeful, because I believe deeply in the ability of human beings to remake themselves for the better.'
