"I would have faked it forever rather than give you up."
okay wow yes this is giving me Kasie West vibes, which means it's SUPER ADORABLE
Whichever aspect of the book I look at, it's all so good:
• amazing friendships - first with her BFF and later with the guy D&D group
• supportive parents - both Riley's mom and dad were supportive of her theater activities and through her actions you can see that they encouraged her to take initiative and be as bold as she wanted
• adorable romance - enemies to friends to lovers is the best ♥ they were too cute for words
• hobbies done right - I hate it when authors give their characters "quirky" hobbies just to make them interesting but don't actually involve this hobby anywhere. Riley was a theater kid through and through and I absolutely love that she became a D&D enthusiast as well! The way her thinking shifted and she started subtly mentioning some game-related terms in other conversations showed some excellent writing.
• Nathan - finally an MC wearing glasses yessss also this guy was the biggest green flag ever
