This was my first Oscar Wilde play and I loved it! It was quite a bizarre and witty plot but after reading I would love to watch a performance of it as I imagine the satirical nature of this play would be even more powerfully portrayed on stage. In a way it reminded me vaguely of Shakespeare’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing’, but set in the late 19th century instead of the 16th/17th.
