The Song of Achilles
by Madeline Miller
6/1/19 -
FUCK
I ugly cried through the last 15% of this novel. This is my new favorite book of all time.
________
6/4/25 -
since the last time i read this, it's been unseated as my most favoritest book (beartown), but no doubt it's still hanging out in the top 3.
top 2, maybe.
okay, okay, they can share.
i doubted whether the audio could make me cry, and i was a fool. i sat in the dark, transfixed, staring at a wall and leaking steadily for over an hour at the end of this stupid fucking book.
crying screaming throwing up at "I could recognize him by touch alone, by smell; I would know him blind, by the way his breaths came and his feet struck the earth. I would know him in death, at the end of the world."
absolutely never getting over it.
