The Burning Girls by C.J. Tudor
3.75
slow-paced
Diverse cast of characters: No

I figured out the “twist” a quarter of the way through. It’s pretty bullshit to be in a character's head the whole time, and have them basically lie to you. We get all of Jack’s thoughts, except that she’s actually Mary? We get all of her thoughts except “I hope no one figures out who I am and I figure out what happened to Joy? Full nonsense. Really kind of pissed me off, and I can’t really see past that to decide if I liked the book regardless. It kept me listening, at least.
