This was a solid story. Freya, the book’s protagonist, was flawed in a very relatable way. I enjoyed the Norse mythology aspect woven throughout. Bjorn is a solid male lead who was equally charming and dangerous.
I saw parts of the twists at the end coming, but still felt surprised by some of the revelations. This was a solid slow burn/forbidden love relationship that was woven in with the story and made sense.
Freya is strong and smart, though her loyalty to her undeserving family was frustrating at times. Bjorn was every bit the fierce warrior and possessive lover, but never in a way that overshadowed or made Freya weak.
I’m eager to finish their story and see what Freya and Bjorn will choose for themselves in the next book.
