At the Mountains of Madness by H.P. Lovecraft

3.0

I have gotten deep into Arkham Horror Card Game and I decided to go to the source material for my upcoming campaign.

Man, was this text a slog. Obviously with it being an older text, the language is a barrier, but this was a struggle on top of that. The narrator feels like he is writing an anthropological field report as much as he is writing a story. This is the best and worst parts of this work. At times the detail into the creatures is so exciting and at other times its just tedious.

Definitely interesting to learn the roots of cosmic horror and I will keep venturing into Lovecraft but I definitely will need some time.
