The Beach House
by James Patterson
This story was about Jack Mullen whose younger brother was tragically found dead washed up on the beach of a wealthy Hamptons family beach house . The finding was that Peter Mullen committed suicide, but Jack did not believe it. He made it his mission to discover the truth, but it caused more trouble than he bargained for. I enjoyed Macklin Mullen, the boys grandfather's character the most. He was 86/87 years old, and he was feisty, outspoken wise and well-loved. I also enjoyed Jack Mullen's character. He was tenacious and determined to find out what really happened o his border, no mater the consequences. The characters felt pretty real and easy to like or hate, depending on which character is in question. The twists were surprising and made me want to see what was going to happen next. If I discuss my favorite part of this book, it would be a huge spoiler so I'll just say that I liked the way everything was revealed. There weren't any parts that I disliked per se, but there were characters that I could have done with never knowing. They sucked. This was a book that included twists and revelations that were disturbing, but kept me reading. If possible, I would give this book a 4.2 out of 5 rating.
