I loved the world-building of this book, some people may think it’s slow or too much, but I love world-building (maybe too much!). The FMC is very fleshed out and complex, her character arc is well seen. I do wish the MMC were a little more well-developed or multi-dimensional. It felt as though the FMC was definitely the author’s favorite and you could feel the connection between them through the writing. I would have liked for the author to spend some additional time getting to know her other characters just as well.
As for the plot, it is well written, it moves at a medium pace. The author keeps things quite mysterious so you're constantly trying to figure things out. I wasn't a huge fan of the ending, but I can't count that as a negative as this is a series beginner.
Go ahead and give this one a read!
