Wall Street Titan by Dima Zales, Anna Zaires
5.0
I loved this first book in the Wall Street Titan duet.
So this was the 4th book I picked up in 1 day because I was by myself at work and because I recently resubscribed to Audible Escape. Didn't finish it before I went home but I almost did because I did not want to stop listening.
The narrators were great. I've heard them on multiple other books.
Going into this, I didn't realize it was a duet/series BUT at about 75% in, there were too many issues for this to be resolved in a satisfying manner, if this was only one book. Thankfully it wasn't and the story and couple continues in Titan's Addiction.
Be aware going into this that Marcus is a bit of stalker...I don't mind that in my books but some may have an issue there.
Emma is in her mid-20's (I think 26), a free-lance editor and full time book store employee and alos becoming a cat lady and her friend pleads with her to get out there or try a dating app. So Emma breaks down and tries one. She agrees to a date with a guy name Mark and meet him.
Now Marcus is ready to settle down, so he tries a matchmaker to help him find the perfect wife. The matchmaker sends him the stats for a woman named Emmaline, she ticks all of his boxes, so they agree to meet.
In a twisted turn of events, both Emma and Marcus meet at a cafe/restaurant and it becomes painfully obvious that neither are who they thought they were meeting. They were both meeting someone else but had a mix up because Emma was meeting Mark, Marcus was meeting Emmaline.
Marcus was instantly attracted but knew Emma was the wrong woman for him and everything he didn't want in a partner but he can't help but want her. And he gets a "gift", Emma accidentally left her phone in the booth and now he has an excuse to see her again. Thus begins their amazing and fun romance.
I really appreciated that Emma was very stubborn, when it came to paying for things. This will annoy me in the second book but in this one I liked it. She wants to make sure she pays her way because she never wants to be like her mother who constantly used people.
Meanwhile Marcus is making that difficult for her because he's constantly trying to (and does) give her gifts and wanting to pay for things for her.
The drama near the end, I loved, I just wanted to see what Marcus would do and how he would make it up to Emma. And
I just loved this book. So much. It will eventually be joining my physical book shelves. Immediately after finishing this, I downloaded the next book from Audible Escape and finished that book in one day.

Spoiler
when Emma turned him down at the airport and told him that she wouldn't be with him anymore I was rooting for her but at the same time hurting for Marcus and I could not wait to see how he fixed things and how he would get her back.I just loved this book.
