Peter & Max by Bill Willingham

4.0

I need to preface this review by mentioning that I read the Fables series and a fan of Bill Willingham. The fraternal dynamic that he set up in Peter & Max worked really well. He crafted a fine balance of jumping between present day and the past in the Homelands. The only negative aspect of this novel lay within the first 50-60 pages where the Willingham was getting a feel for this non comics medium and some of the exposition felt forced. The author's techniques pulled into high gear and provided with a very satisfying finish. I hope Willingham will provide additional prose in the future.
