13 Treasures by Michelle Harrison

First, I probably should give a disclaimer. I read this book while I was feeling stressed out about my laptop crashing . . .it gave me a great way to get my mind off that problem. At the same time, that background stress may have affected the way I read the book. I hope to read it again and review it again at a later date.
I liked, and really liked, this book in turns. At some points I sympathized with the main character, Tanya, and at others, I didn't. I wanted just a little more interaction between Tanya and her grandmother, and more between herself and those who are later revealed to be her guardians.
At the same time, I really enjoyed her growing trust and friendship with both Fabian and Rowen, and I'm looking forward to reading more about all these characters in their next adventure, the 13 Curses.
The urban fantasy setting felt very detailed, and Tanya's interactions with the faerie world were very well written.
