Magpie Murders
by Anthony Horowitz
I grew to hate it as it drew near the end. The first story was enjoyable, the second far less, and the resolution to the first was extremely unsatisfying, to the point that like season 7 of Game of Thrones, I'm denying it's existence.
The main character of the second story is an editor of mystery novels, but this novel badly needed an editor. Large parts later on were totally unnecessary, and the conclusions of the detective from the first story were unsupported by evidence in my opinion. "Why else would ___?" is really not all that persuasive. Skip it.
