“It’s the imperfections that make things beautiful.”

I was excited to start this book. I bought all three on my kindle and I loved the TV series when it came out so I was buzzing to finally pick it up.

Annoyingly, I was disappointed! I enjoyed the book, but didn’t love it as much as I thought I would. Belly (the fmc) became annoyingly irritating to me. Everything revolves around her and when it didn’t, she got upset. I know the author wrote her character as if she were still childlike to show the contrast between the boys and her, but it became an issue for me that when she was sulking about another situation, I couldn’t relate to her.

I love Conrad. Even within the tv series, I am team Conrad, and the book didn’t disappoint by creating him this way. Although I wish there was more of a development in his character, and not just a base/surface level understanding of his character.

I liked Steven’s (Belly’s brother) character, although I wished he was in the book more. It seemed to me like a very odd choice for the author to create a character and then have him leave the book halfway through.

I enjoyed this book, and look forward to seeing where the storyline goes! 3.25⭐️
