The Caller
by Chris Carter
Overview: CC does it again! This one seriously gave me chills. The writing is just so easy to read, made even easier by the short chapters. The idea of killing someone via video message is, quite frankly, terrifying then add in the element of asking the person on the phone some simple questions to answer to save their loved ones life...questions they should know the answer to! It created an extremely tense and captivating read.
Good Points: I'm excited that Hunter's character is possibly getting a love interest. I'm excited to see this development (I hope) in later books. The guy deserves some happiness and normality! My favourite line (which is in every book I think) is when Hunter explains something really complicated and random and everyone looks at him like "how the hell do you know that?" And he answers with "I read a lot". Best line ever!
Not so Good Points: Only negative is when the killer was announced I didn't actually know who they were...so there was no shock factor. But the reason why then killed...spot on!
Another fantastic book by CC. I urge every thriller reader to read one, if not all, of his books. You won't regret it.
