I really wanted to love Harlem Shuffle as much as I loved The Underground Railroad, but I just never got there. The character development was not what I have enjoyed of Whitehead’s writing and I never really figured out what the plot was supposed to be…thriller, mystery, heist…it just never landed anywhere for me.
