I can honestly say I don’t know why I didn’t enjoy this book. The writing, the prose, and the grammar are all good. I really liked the heroine and I loved that she was a healer. I was expecting a darker hero, but he was more a traditional hero with an edge. I still liked him and he kept doing tropes I love. I thought the plot and the world building were well done. A little easy at some points, but there’s nothing wrong with that. The side characters were interesting enough and I even enjoyed the politics. Yet I still wasn’t into it. The only thing I can say is that for some reason I didn’t like the main couple for most of the story. It just fell flat for some reason I can’t pinpoint. I would say to give it a try even if I didn’t like it because the chemistry was just off for me. I won’t be reading the next one.
