Genghis: Birth of an Empire by Conn Iggulden
4.0
This book details the rise of Temujin, (known to us later as Genghis Khan) and how he started unifying the different tribes of the Mongols. But this is historical fiction and the author talks about the changes he made - artistic license - at the end. This is a well written book. If I had any complaint, it would be that the author took the main characters from one trial of survival to the next, all the way to the final battle. But otherwise, kept my interest. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I should also read the non-fiction account of this conqueror to compare.
