70% Dark Intentions is the second book in Amber Royer’s “Bean to Bar” Mystery series, and it doesn’t disappoint. Having read the first in the series, I feel like it helped provide me the background of the characters and the relationships that were already formed and that continue to form. When Felicity stumbles upon another dead body at her chocolate shop, it’s up to her to clear the dark cloud looming over the reputation of the brand-new shop – all while taking care of Clive the pet octopus!
This book is entertaining and engaging. What I like the most about this series is it’s not just about the mystery, but there’s depth to the characters and their stories are entertaining as well. The mystery did keep you guessing, but it left you intrigued. I look forward to future books in this series – I hope it continues!
