Changing Forever by Lisa De Jong
medium-paced
4.0
I love Lisa De Jong’s writing. It’s so easy to read and I get so immersed in the story. Just like with ‘When it rains’ I feel like I know the characters and I can physically feel their emotional pain. Emery starts a new college and literally runs into Drake. Drake is popular, he’s the starting quarterback for the college football team and in her eyes way out of her league. They are paired up on a project and start to get to know each other. Seeing them start to fall for each other was the sweetest thing ever. Drake isn’t like all the other guys on the team and doesn’t have a long list of girls he’s been with. He has trouble opening up because of his past and never gets emotionally involved with girls. Emery soon finds out that he’s way more than what people think he is. Emery has an heartbreaking past and Drake feels for her so much. The way they joke around and just get each other was so fun to read. There is quite a bit of push and pull and the MMC is immature about so many things. It did get annoying at times but I was so into the book that it didn’t really matter. That’s when you know the characters are written well 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻It’s such an easy enjoyable read that will rip your heart out but don’t worry you’ll get it back in the end🫶
