WARNING: very unprofessional and scattered review ahead, do not read if you like punctuation, lack of profanity, and basic understandibility
😍

- yes love the liminal and mysterious night vibes it works with nutakamis writing style so we'll
- the Denny's scenes felt  cinematic
- i don't usually have book crushes but tell me why takahashi is literally my type
- i like the shifts in where the story took place
- the alphaville owner lady also owns my heart more of her pls
- the cell phone part was interesting i guess

😐

- i was a lil bored whenever they were talking about Eri asleep, they are always like "she doesn't move OMG HER EYELID TWITCHED DID YALL SEE THAT"
- (spoilers ahead) ok but the whole businessman and Chinese girl drama like haruki gave us no explanations for why he beat her up and stole her shit. this is what I hated the most is the lack of resolution in this story. sure, mari visits her sister hip hip hooray but literally nothing else is mentioned in the end she doesn't even really wake up. i get it's an artistic land metaphorical literary choice but frustrating nevertheless.
- NGL i probably could have been more consistent in reading this book but i don't have as much time these days to rlly focus on reading.
