I didn't know what I was getting myself into with this book and was very confused through the first part because I kept thinking it had really weird tone issues and the characters were more caricatures, but then it became clear the clever satire he was creating and things went crazy. Unlike anything I've read, makes important statements about lynching and racism, and strangely also brought some humor.
