I Love Dick by Chris Kraus

emotional funny reflective slow-paced

4.25

Here’s the egomaniacal narcissistic (same thing?) feeling that comes on whenever I read genre-bending women authored roman à clefs… the thing is I have a suspicion I have the mind of an artist but I don’t know what to do with it. And by mind of an artist I mean like in the way i interpret the world, everything seems limitless and at the same time not at all guaranteed for anything to come to fruition. Not because of a lack of will but because the only reaction to feeling is disorder (is that what chaosophy is?) I need to start reading Deleuze and Guattari in order to understand schizophrenic post structural theory but this was a good soft launch. Delicious and rich in 20th century French philosophy and art and the post movement in the west that followed but also semi-fictionalized and wholly glamorized/neuroticized. No woman is an island-ess but love is a hope is an anchor.
