Nevernight was such a pleasant surprise. I remember reading quite a few 1 star reviews talking about the writing. And I do agree that it's a really strange writing style, but I think that it somehow fits the book very well. I also enjoyed the notes below the text, I thought they added an interesting element to the book. I liked that this was a story about assassins, morally grey characters - with very morally grey female MC - assassin school, magic and one sarcastic shadow cat.
