This was a bit of a rollercoaster for me, and not necessarily a good one. Frankly, I kept feeling like I was getting whiplash from the plot changes. It felt a little like the author had several smaller mysteries that didn't have enough meat to them to maintain a single book's plot. I appreciate how much this series focuses on trauma, but I did constantly want to strangle Damon and Fortuna both.

I also wish there had been more of a trigger warning before the last three or so chapters.
