This Vicious Cure by Emily Suvada

4.0

Solid series. This book is probably more like four stars but the whole series is hands down five stars. I think this was my least favorite in the series just because I found the new alternating POVs to be jarring. Overall, I was satisfied with how this series wrapped up.

If you don't need the audiobook, I wouldn't recommend it. The narrator is not great and mispronounces a lot of words and is hard to understand, mumbling and awkward pauses and inconsistent voice volume. I usually listen while I'm reading the words so it was okay for me, but the times I wasn't reading the book there were things I'd have to go back and reread because I didn't understand it.

This series is so incredibly clever, a gem among Science Fiction and Dystopian that teens and adults alike can enjoy. The characters were more mature so that combined with the scientific elements makes it read older. I'm not genetics- or tech-savvy at all but I really liked those aspects of these books and it was explained well. It seems like the author really knows her stuff, so if that is one of your interests, you might have a great time geeking out! I personally loved the characters and their relationships and the plot that drove the story along. Nothing ever seemed too convenient or pointless and it was a well-crafted series. I can't wait to see what Emily Suvada puts out next.
