The Obsession by Nora Roberts
1.0

I read this book for work and I did not enjoy one second of it. For starters, every character is bad and not well thought out. Naomi is apparently has millions of dollars for a home renovation, which is a subplot in this disaster, but she mentions that she doesn't have a ton of money. Sure, Naomi, that 6 figure estimate was nothing! Meanwhile, every man in this book wants you to know that Naomi is different. She's HOT. She's tall, blonde, has the occasional beer,
Spoilerthe daughter of a serial killer
... but I digress. The main love interest is named Xander, and he's also MEGA HOT. He's a mechanic and plays in a super cool rock/cover band and likes to read. Xander is around 30, which is weird because his name is popular now but wasn't even in the top 1000 before the year 2000. But let's suspend our collective disbelief for a moment and think about all his great qualities; he calls Naomi "Slim", has an old car, likes dogs, etc. All hot guy things. And on top of that he lets his friends talk about how hot Naomi is to her face throughout the book. How romantic.

Then there's the suspense plot. Boy oh boy the suspense plot. Where is it? If you can't find it, fret not! It picks up in the last 3rd of the book. And if you wanted to get a graphic description of

, you're in for a treat.
