The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert

3.0

I did not go into this book with super high expectations, because a lot of people have been giving it mixed reviews.

All in all I liked it. It was right in the middle.
I liked the dark and creepy stories from the Hinterlands and the setting. I liked what we found out about Alice and Ella and Althea. I liked the world and the creativity of it.

But I did not really care for the characters. I was not attached to them and I did not really care about what happened to them. I feel like it took quite some time to get rolling and overall I had an issue with the pacing of the story. It was a super quick read (when I actually got to reading) but at the same time I also felt that I did not catch a lot of what was happening. For some reason it did not "stick" with me.
