I’m very interested in the start of a novella series by J.T. Patten. Brothers of Blood was short and gory and full of interesting characters. I really enjoyed the plot and the ending threw me for a loop. However, I wasn’t exactly attached to any of the characters and found that I didn’t care for John and Wayne Carter by the end of the book. This really may have just been because it was a novella and not a lot of room/time for a ton of character development. I also wish I had gotten more of Kesha’s character because I actually really did like her, even in the end. Overall, an intriguing start to the New Orleans Haunt novella series.
