The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood
5.0
A subtle slow build of a book, which at first I was puzzled by and often almost bored. But as she is always able to do, Atwood's writing is beautiful in its understated quality. Her depiction of the human mind's ability to protect itself (often through self-deception) is often haunting, and one that will stick with me for a long time.
