I listened to the audio version of this book via audible.
Initially I liked the book as the author explored the tension between mother and daughter after many years of a strained relationship ultimately due to a misunderstanding. You got to know some interesting characters and see the mother's struggles with early dementia symptoms. The author nailed the dark messy realities of life and relationships.
But I found the book took a turn about three-quarters of the way through where everything became too upbeat and optimistic. it almost felt like someone else stepped in to write the last quarter of the book. it's felt disjointed and off to me. It's not as if I wanted an sad ending but everything seemed too perfectly resolved for me.
