One of Our Own

The audio production of First Lie Wins deserves a solid 5 stars. It felt more like an immersive, high-quality podcast than a typical audiobook, with multiple voice artists bringing the characters and their interactions to life. This layered audio approach made it incredibly engaging—I finished it in a single day.
Where the book lost momentum for me was in the writing and the predictability of the plotline; about halfway through, I had a clear sense of where the story was headed, and, sure enough, it unfolded exactly as expected. A bit more depth or some unexpected twists could have elevated the experience. For a quick, 4-hour listen, it was entertaining enough, but not something I’d return to.
