The Ballerinas by Rachel Kapelke-Dale
4.0

I am a sucker for a ballet book, and this one did not disappoint. The world of dance is darker than people realize, but I think it makes sense if you think about it. Any profession that’s so meticulous and so much about the human body must be. The Paris/St Petersburg settings of this story were both magical to me, and the way each chapter got closer and closer to combining the dual storylines worked really well. The characters definitely all bothered me in their own ways, mainly the sheer selfishness of the majority of them, but I also admired their passion for the ballet.
