“Death isn’t waiting for Calder. It’s listening for his instruction.”
This duet sits firmly in my top 10 favorite books of all time, but listening to the audio brought it to another level. I cannot say enough about the vocal performance that Angelina Rocca & Connor Crais gave for this story. Hearing the absolute devastation Sutton & Calder were living through had me bursting into tears, even though I already knew what was going to happen from my first read of it.
This book picks up immediately following the tragic events of Just Like Heaven, where Calder and Sutton are forced apart by their families. Sutton is determined to find her own footing in Calder’s absence while he struggles with his own demons and tries to figure out a way back to her that would keep them both safe. The years-long journey they go through before they can be reunited is truly heartbreaking, but the ending is SO WORTH IT. ❤️🔥
“Calder’s traded his soul for me—for us. And I love him more for it.”
