Recovering the Lost Art of Reading is a literature-based reading book. It is organized into three parts. Part one ` Reading is a lost art. Part two ‘Reading literature. And, Part three ‘Recovering the art of reading.
Even though I read some books as a child and a young adult, I read superbly now. I cannot imagine not reading. I believe it is a shame our children don’t read more, and I’m not referring to digital reading, but print. Even by the time I was a teen much required reading that my older sisters read was no longer a requirement.
So I decided to review Recovering the Lost Art of Reading. Just like letter writing, reading has pretty much gone by the wayside. Did you know reading is an art? What do you think of when someone speaks of ‘art’? Does reading come to mind? I don’t think so.
Author Leland Ryken served as professor of English at Wheaton College for nearly fifty years. And, Author Glenda Faye Mathes is a professional writer with a passion for literary excellence.
I believe the reason the authors wrote this book is to inform readers that people need to get back to reading, and reading good material. This is one book I will reread and highly suggest others read it.
Let us make reading a continued art. Have you read any good books lately? I give Recovering the Lost Art of Reading 5*/5*.
