A Keanu Reeves film in cerebral book form.

I had not read the comics prior to The Book of Elsewhere, so I had no idea what I was getting into. B is a character that only Keanu could play, the centuries of chaos surrounding his story adding to the layers that exist in this "unkillable" "man." His charisma kept me going. He absolutely carried the book. The rest of it was action/sci-fi, a little weird, thought-provoking, and occasionally brutal and bloody.

It took me about 100 pages to get into, but once I was in it, I needed to know where it was all heading. The writing style was unique (as I'd hear Miéville is, though I hadn't read any of his work previously), not as alienating as some reviews would have you believe, but definitely utilizing less common language that maybe isn't as accessible or easily understood. It never felt intentionally pretentious or condescending though. Just someone with a stellar vocabulary telling a story, and being extraordinarily specific in his diction.

Overall enjoyable. (If you cast Keanu as the main character for the movie in your head lol).
