I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

jeanette is a WRITER, this memoir is so incredibly written as a book itself. but more than that, she is so honest. her story is far from pretty, her recovery is far from over, but she is honest in her portrayal of herself and her struggle along the way. it was so much to take in and at the same time i couldn't put the book down. massive content warnings to check out before you read to make sure you're up for it, but i think there's so much to be said about emphasizing that the recovery journey is not easy and not tied up in a bow at the end.
