The Sweetest Remedy
by Jane Igharo
Parts of this book I absolutely loved. The family dynamics were so much fun and interesting, the cultural aspects, and the little touches of Nigeria, be it food, clothing, greetings, whatever, were amazing. I could tell that the author was really writing this from the heart. The problem I had with this book was how it was marketed. It was sold to me as a romance, and we were halfway through the book before we really start talking about the love interest, and the author didn't invest enough energy into building him up as a character. By the end of the book, I was more concerned about her relationships with different members of her family than I ever was about her and Lawrence.
