Fatal Voyage
by Kathy Reichs
I have really enjoyed this series so far. I started picking them out out of order at a second hand book store, and that has had no impact on how much i liked them.
Not only has the scientific aspect been fascinating, but the characters are real and relatable. I thought the depth of human feeling conveyed in this book was especially respectful and real in exploring disaster sites. It is not just clinical, but human in the horror that can bring.
I also very much appreciate the quirks, humanity and humour conveyed both in character dialogue, and in how the protagonist thinks.
All in all i find the writing to create a world with enough detail and emotion to allow my imagination to step into a world i would never see otherwise.
